Step 3

Compare & Select Installer

Review quotes side by side. Compare system specifications, pricing, warranties, and installer reviews. All our installers are MCS-certified for quality assurance.

Step 4

Pay Deposit & Book Survey

Secure your installation date with a small deposit (typically £500). This is deducted from your final balance. Most installers offer financing options.

Step 5

Home Survey

A surveyor visits to assess your roof structure, electrical system, and finalize the system design. This ensures the installation plan is perfect for your home.

Step 6

DNO Notification/Application

For systems under 3.68kW, we submit a G98 'fit and inform' notification. Larger systems require G99 pre-approval which takes 2-6 weeks.

G98 systems can be installed immediately. G99 approval is required before installation.
Step 7

Professional Installation

MCS-certified engineers install your system in 1-2 days. Scaffolding is arranged beforehand and removed after completion.

Step 8

MCS Registration

Your installer registers the system on the MCS database within 10 working days. This certification is essential for Smart Export Guarantee eligibility.

Step 9

Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) Registration

Register with an energy supplier to get paid for electricity you export to the grid. Current rates range from 3-15p/kWh depending on supplier.

Step 10

Handover & Go Solar

Receive your MCS certificate, system documentation, and warranties. Your smart meter tracks generation and exports. Start saving immediately!

Regular Maintenance

We recommend washing your solar panels every 2-3 months for maximum solar harvest. You can order a recurring service from one of our partners to take care of this for you.

Long-Term Support

In about 10 years, the installation company will contact you again for replacing the inverter and/or batteries if you have installed any.
